We left Slovenia behind, drove across Austria and arrived in Dachau early afternoon for a visit to, what is fact a depressing but interesting historical site.
Except for a €3 fee to park a visit to the concentration camp is free. The barracks were closed because of COVID-19 but we were able to see the crematorium and gas chambers and the extensive exhibition documenting how and why the camp was build and how life changed once the SS took over control.
After our visit we drove an extra 1.5 hour to our hotel so we would already be closer to our next stop, Heidelberg.
