Another warm and sunny day to explore Oslo. As many other cities, Oslo’s city center and many of the highlights are within easy walking distance. We walked the Domkirke to the new Opera House, build in white marble it looks like an iceberg. Nearby is Akerhus, an old fortress that was build to protect the city. These days a part is still used by the Norwegian army and off limits to tourists. Once we descended back to street level we followed the waterfront where we could see several graffiti walls to City Hall. a part of the area was fenced off in preparation of the midsummer night activities the following days.
Via Aker Brygge we got to a modern part of the city, Tjuvholmen , with a museum of modern art and new luxury apartments. In between are canals making the area an ideal place to relax.
By now we slowly started to make our way back but we made one more stop to visit the Nobel Peace Center with it’s exhibition on all winners of the Nobel Peace Price.
Wel heel gemakkelijk om jullie te volgen.
Mooie foto’s van Oslo.
Verder wensen we jullie nog een prettige vakantie
