The sun was already shining when we left the hotel in morning. We started our city walk at the nearby Royal palace where we strolled around the gardens to the exit at the other end towards Vigeland, a large open air museum with 100’s of statues.
We continued our tour to City Hall to take a ferry to Bygdøy. We had planned to see the Oscarshall royal summer palace but unfortunately the gate was closed. Next on our list was the Kon-Tiki museum with the original Kon-Tiki raft and Ra II boat.
“Borders? I have never seen one. But I have heard they exist in the minds of some people.”
– Thor Heyerdahl
In the Fram museum we visited the polar expedition ships Fram and Gjøa.
Both museums looked a lot different than they did 37 years ago when we first came here.
