The first short stop after leaving Kobarid was the Solkanski railroadbridge, with a span of 85 meters, the world’s longest stone arch railroad bridge.
Koper was next on our list. We stretched our legs strolling through the very narrow streets near Tito Square with it’s bell tower. Near Da Ponte Fountain we also visited the remnants of the city’s fortification.
We also planned to go to Piran but the area was so crowded that, since we have a few days in the area, we decided to go straight to our accommodation near Umag, Croatia and return tomorrow.
Before leaving home we filled in the entry forms for Slovenia as well as Croatia but except for showing our ID at the SLO/HR border there were no checks of our COVID-19 papers. Crossing the borders has been as if all is back to normal.
